How do you assemble the Hurom slow juicer?

Insert the sieve into the rotating brush, then gently rotate the combined sieve and brush into the drum until you hear a click. Place the auger into the sieve and rotate it until it fits. There are two recesses on the outer edges of the sieve and rotating brush that both blades fit into. Place the funnel on top and turn it clockwise until the arrows on the funnel and the housing align. Check that the lever is in the "Close" position before juicing.

Make smoothies with Hurom

With the coarse strainer, you can juice bananas, avocados, strawberries, and other soft fruits, which make a great base for fresh fruit smoothies. You can also add frozen fruit, yogurt, or milk for a creamy drink.

"Slow juicers", do they take long?

Our slow juicers, called Slow Squeeze Juicers, spin at 43 rpm on newer models (around 80 rpm on older models), compared to the 10,000 or more rpm of typical high-speed juicers and blenders. Nevertheless, our juicers produce juice at the same speed, and sometimes even faster, than other models we've tested.

Are Hurom juicers loud?

Because our slow juicers only rotate at 43 or 80 rpm, they are significantly quieter than high-speed juicers and blenders.

Are Hurom juicers safe?

Hurom juicers are 100% BPA-free and come without blades or sharp parts.

The engine won't start

This could be because the funnel isn't properly seated on the base. If it's properly seated, the arrows on top of the funnel and on the base should point in the same direction. The motor will only turn on if the arrows align. Another possibility is that a magnet that activates the juicer's power function is missing. To check if the magnet is missing, look under the lid. If there's a crescent-shaped indentation, the magnet is missing and needs to be replaced.

I put too many ingredients into the Hurom feed chute at once. What can I do?

If there are too many ingredients in the Hurom, the hopper may not open. If this happens, simply toggle between the dispense and reverse buttons. Press the reverse button while simultaneously turning the hopper open. If that doesn't work, don't try to force the hopper open. It's best to call customer service.

There is a sieve damage

This can happen if you add ice, frozen food, large chunks, or seeds to the bowl. Refer to the instruction manual for proper use and juicing tips. Be careful not to overfill or overload the juicer. If necessary, new strainers and other replacement parts can be purchased. For assistance, please contact customer service at info@tavora.ch .

The bowl is firmly in place and cannot be removed from the base.

This can happen if there's too much stuff in the bowl or if there's an unknown substance in it. Press the rewind button for 3-5 seconds and let water run through the bowl. Repeat this 2-3 times, then push the bowl upward or shake it while rotating. Also, make sure the pulp outlet is "CLOSED" when removing the bowl from the base.

How do I clean my juicer?

To rinse the juicer, pour water into the funnel while the juice cap is closed. Turn the juicer on so the brush runs along the strainer. Open the juice cap and let the water drain. Repeat this two or three times. To completely clean the juicer, move the lever to "Open," disassemble it, and clean each part. Remember: the sooner you clean after juicing, the easier it will be.

Are the parts of the Hurom juicer dishwasher safe?

Only the snail is dishwasher safe.

Do all screens work on all machines?

Some parts may be compatible between models of the same generation, but interchanging parts is not recommended.

When do I use the control lever?

The lever regulates the pressure in the chamber. The lever should always be set to "closed" when you begin juicing. Once the chamber begins to fill with juice, switching the lever to "half-closed" helps release the pressure and allow the pulp to escape freely. (This is a good idea when juicing ingredients with lots of seeds, such as grapes or kiwi.)

Can I use the ice strainer on any juicer?

We do not recommend replacing parts. If you have questions about specific models, please contact our customer service.

Preparation, ingredients and recipes

Is it better to eat whole fruits and vegetables?

Any opportunity to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet is beneficial, as most people don't reach their recommended daily intake of fruits and vegetables. Juicing is a great way to incorporate much-needed vitamins and minerals from plant-based foods into our diets.

What is the difference between juice and a smoothie?

Both juices and smoothies are great ways to add more nutrients and fiber to your diet, but they're very different. Juice is easy to drink, has a clear/smooth texture, and is packed with nutrients and soluble fiber that your body absorbs quickly. A smoothie is much thicker and takes longer for your body to digest. Because good juicers separate and blend the pulp from the juice, you also don't have to peel your fruits and vegetables or remove small seeds. With a blender, you would have to remove anything you don't want to eat, like seeds, stems, etc. Remember, Hurom juicers can also make smoothies!

Is it true that juice does not contain fiber?

There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Fresh juices contain a very high percentage of soluble fiber, which your body can absorb more easily. Because insoluble fiber stays in the juice, your body can recover from the digestive process and focus on absorbing minerals and vitamins. If you need more insoluble fiber, you should eat more whole grains and beans.

Can I juice citrus peels or ice cubes?

Of course, you can squeeze citrus peels, but they taste bitter and produce sour juice. Removing the citrus peels ensures delicious juice without any bitterness. Do not add ice cubes to the Hurom. For a smoothie with a thicker texture, you can add slightly thawed frozen fruit to the machine.

Do I need to remove any peels or seeds?

The rule of thumb is: If you can chew it, you can juice it. So, most cores, apple peels, pomegranate seeds, etc. are fine. Don't remove the skins if they're thin or soft, as the nutrients are sometimes more concentrated in the skin. However, you wouldn't chew lemon peels, pineapple skins, or peach pits, so don't juice them.

What can I do with the pulp?

The pulp can be used in a variety of ways! Use it in baking, soups, veggie burgers, healthy cookies, and muffins. Leftover pulp is easy to incorporate back into your diet. You can also add it to animal feed or compost it.

Can I use frozen fruit in my juicer?

Yes, you can use frozen fruit in your juicer. Just make sure it's thawed slightly to avoid damage. It's recommended to use the coarse strainer when juicing frozen fruit.

Do I need to slice vegetables and fruit before juicing?

Yes, you can optimize yield and reduce pulp by cutting fruits and vegetables into smaller, 5 cm pieces.

  • Vegetables. We recommend preparing your vegetables so that the pieces fall through the feed chute without having to push down. Cut carrots into half-inch slices, and all other root vegetables, such as beets, into similarly sized slices.
  • Fruit. Make sure to cut the pieces large enough to easily fit into the feed chute. Remove the peel from citrus fruits. If the Hurom becomes clogged, this can be resolved by adding fruit or vegetables with a different texture.
  • Leafy greens. Roll the leaves into cigar-shaped packets and then fold them in half. Make sure the size isn't too large for the feed chute. Wet leaves don't pass through the juicer as easily as drier leaves. Therefore, pat the washed fruits and vegetables dry with a kitchen towel before adding them to the Hurom.

How should I store my leftover juice?

We recommend drinking the juice as soon as possible to preserve the maximum nutrients. If you have any leftovers, be sure to use a container with an airtight lid to prevent oxygen from reaching the juice and degrading it, and refrigerate it as soon as possible. However, we recommend storing the juice for no longer than 48 hours.

Can I put hot liquids into the Hurom juicer?

Although our parts are made of high-quality materials, they are not suitable for handling hot liquids.

How do I make ice cream with my juicer?

There are two ways to make ice cream with your Hurom: 1st and 2nd Generation Juicers - Juice your ingredients as desired through the Hurom, add honey or sweetener to taste, and pour into a freezer-safe bowl. Freeze for about 2 hours, then scrape the mixture with a fork to keep it soft, and return it to the freezer. We recommend using the coarse strainer when juicing frozen fruit.

Alpha models (H-AA and HZ) – Using the included ice cream strainer, simply add your frozen fruit of choice (slightly thawed) and use your Hurom as you would for juicing. Enjoy straight from the chamber! Ice cream recipe suggestions can be found in your juicer's recipe book.
